Planetary reducer gear clearance test method:

1. Use a feeler gauge to plug the tooth profile gap from the end face (the other gear can be rotated), and the maximum reading that the feeler gauge can just plug is the tooth side gap.
2. Use a dial indicator to measure the tooth head near the middle of the tooth profile of the movable gear, rotate the movable gear, and the reading is the end-side clearance.
Planetary reducer gear clearance elimination (adjustment) method:
Generally speaking, apply red lubricating oil (a mixture of red powder and engine oil) on the tooth surface of the driving bevel gear, and then rotate the driving bevel gear several times by hand, so the two working surfaces of the driven bevel gear teeth are Red spots will appear.
If the indentation on the working surface of the driven bevel gear is located in the middle of the tooth height and accounts for more than 60% of the width of the tooth surface, it is a correct meshing. The correct meshing position can be obtained by adjusting the total thickness of the shim between the final reducer housing and the bevel gear housing (ie, the position of the moving bevel gear).
