Information

Reducer motor gears can be divided into two types: soft tooth surface and hard tooth surface. How to distinguish them? How to choose? Below, Celent Industrial will give you a brief introduction.

First, distinguish from the hardness of the tooth surface of the two:

  1. The tooth surface hardness of the hardened gear of the reduction motor is relatively large. Usually, the tooth surface hardness of a pair of meshing gears is greater than 350HBW.

  2. The tooth surface hardness of the soft tooth surface gear of the reduction motor is small, and the tooth surface hardness of the meshing gear is less than 350HBW.

  2. Distinguish from the selection principles of the two:

  1. Hardened gears are mostly used for high torque and high power power transmission because of their high bearing capacity.

  2. Soft tooth surface gears have low bearing capacity but are easy to manufacture and have good running-in properties. They are mostly used in general machinery with no strict restrictions on transmission size and weight, as well as small-scale production.

Three, from the two process steps to distinguish:

  1. Hardened gears are quenched, surface quenched or carburized and quenched after the gears are finely cut to increase the hardness.

  2. The soft tooth surface gear is finely cut after heat treatment.

The strength design of the gear is carried out from the two aspects of the tooth surface pressure and the tooth root strength considering the lubrication conditions. With the development of technology and the application of computers, the development of transmission technology in the world tends to use hard tooth surfaces. According to statistics, due to the adoption of hard-tooth surface gears, the machine's light weight, miniaturization and quality performance have been greatly promoted, and the working speed of the machine has been increased by one level.

For example, the rolling speed of high-speed wire rod mills has been increased from below 30m/s in the past to 90-120m/s. The use of hard tooth surface gear transmission greatly reduces the volume of the transmission device, which can reduce the manufacturing cost. The nitrided hard tooth surface in the hard tooth surface is not suitable for vulgar and heavy-duty gear transmission due to the shallow depth of the nitride layer, and the nitriding process The cost itself is more expensive, so it is rarely used.

The transition interface between the hardened layer and the non-hardened layer of surface quenching (such as high, medium frequency or flame quenching) is obvious, the hardness distribution is too shaved, and the hardening quality is not uniform. The surface hardness is low (about HRC55), so the application is gradually reduced.

Deep carburizing, quenching and grinding high-precision hard-tooth surface gears, high precision, high surface hardness (HRC58+4), uniform tooth surface hardened layer and many other advantages, especially suitable for low-speed heavy-duty gear transmission. Its surface hardness is high, the contact strength is doubled compared with the quenched and tempered gear, and the bending strength is about 50% higher than that of the quenched and tempered gear.
